Anna and I are friends — but this collaboration started long before I thought about making a candle with her.

A little over a year ago, as a 2x breast cancer survivor, I started taking Onco-Ballet® classes myself. I danced in their annual performance. And it changed my life. There's something about moving your body again, surrounded by people who understand exactly what you've been through, that no other kind of healing gave me.

What Anna has built is groundbreaking. Onco-Ballet® is changing how we navigate this disease through movement, joy, and community. Watching it change my own life is what made this collaboration feel inevitable.

Relevé is the candle I've been waiting to make — for my friend, for Onco-Ballet's mission, and for everyone still finding their way to rise to matter what challenge they are facing.

The Foundation Behind the Flame

Onco-Ballet® was founded by Anna Wassman-Cox, a two-time young breast cancer survivor and former professional ballet dancer. After experiencing firsthand how much ballet helped her heal — physically and emotionally — through her own recovery, Anna built Onco-Ballet® Foundation to bring that same gift to others.

Today, the Onco-Ballet® offers classes completely free of charge to anyone facing cancer, using movement to spark joy, encourage self-expression, and support healing. Anna's vision is to grow Onco-Ballet® across the country — into hospitals, dance studios, ballet companies, and cancer support communities everywhere — so that no one has to face cancer without the lift that movement and community can bring.
